Sitanath Mahto Educational Trust (SMET) – Introduction
Sitanath Mahto Educational Trust (SMET) was established in April 2008 as a new initiative in the field of education. It was formally registered in 2012 under trust number 293/12. This organization operates a private school with the aim of providing quality education at low fees in Jharkhand. The main goal of the trust is to provide good education to children from all sections of society and to contribute to the overall development of society.
The organization was assigned UDISE number 20172106602 in 2017, and all its annual reports are available on the UDISE portal, which clearly demonstrates its transparency and accountability.
Development and Infrastructure
Initially, this organization was operating on a very small scale, with only 70-75 students, 3 teachers, and 3 classrooms. Over time, the organization has made continuous progress and has now developed into a robust educational center. Currently, there are 16 teachers working here, including 8 male and 8 female teachers. In addition, there are 4 non-teaching staff (1 male and 3 females), 2 librarians, and 1 cook. Thus, a total of 23 staff members are associated with the organization.
The organization's campus spans approximately 2 acres, providing all necessary facilities for students. There are a total of 10 classrooms, 2 large halls, 1 computer lab, 1 community library, 2 office rooms, 1 sports room, 1 storage room, 1 guest room, and 4 kitchen rooms.
Additionally, arrangements have been made for students' accommodation. The hostel can accommodate a total of 85 students, including 60 boys and 25 girls. There are 10 rooms available for these students. In terms of sanitation, there are 7 toilets constructed here, including 3 for boys, 3 for girls, and 1 for staff and guests.
Two hand pumps and one overhead tank have been installed in the campus for water supply, ensuring regular water supply for everyone.
Technical facilities and other resources
Considering the changing educational needs over time, the institution has also paid special attention to technical resources. Currently, there are 11 computers, 1 smart Android TV, Wi-Fi facility, CCTV cameras, telephones, and printers available on campus. All these resources help enhance the learning experience of students and connect them with modern education.

Test series
Annual sports competition
An annual sports competition is organized every December for 10 days. The aim is to promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, and competitiveness among students. A unique feature of this event is that it is run by student committees, while teachers play a guiding role. It includes more than 15 sports, such as carrom, chess, football, cricket, and kabaddi.
Computer lab
A computer lab has been established to promote digital education. Initially, there were 6 computers and 1 printer here, but it has now been expanded to 11 computers. This is helping students gain computer education and digital knowledge.
Teacher Training Program
The institution regularly organizes training programs for the continuous development of its teachers. Through these programs, teachers are made aware of new teaching methods, techniques, and educational innovations, which improve the quality of education.
Community Library
This is a library that remains open 24 hours, with seating for 28 people. It has adequate lighting, mobile charging facilities, 5 computers, CCTV, fans, air conditioning, magazines, and newspapers available. This library is useful not only for the school's students but also for the youth in the surrounding area, especially for those preparing for competitive exams like CUET, SSC, JPSC, and UPSC.

Future Plans
The institution is continuously working towards developing new and better educational opportunities. In this regard, a new initiative called "Sewing School" is being launched, which is planned to start in April 2026. This initiative will promote skill development and will be particularly useful for the local community.
